The German withdrawal continues
Operation Alberich continues. German forces are systematically evacuating the Noyon salient, destroying everything as they go. The withdrawal is proceeding according to a precise 35-day timetable. Allied forces are following cautiously, wary of booby traps and rearguard actions. The new Hindenburg Line is a formidable defensive position.
